    When traveling around Neopets.com, you are bound to come across one of the many Random Events that have become a trademark of the site. Random Events are exactly what their name says - events that occur randomly around the site with different outcomes. Some award you with items or Neopoints, while other take them away. There are eight or more different types of Random Events, and sometimes one event can contain several effects:

  • Neutral - Nothing happens.
  • Alteration - Alters your pet's color or increases their stats.
  • Neopoints, Prize - Neopoints or an item is awarded or found.
  • Neopoints, Penalty - Neopoints or an item is stolen or taken away.
  • Illness - You Neopet is suddenly ill.
  • Damage - Your Neopet looses some or all of its health.
  • Battledome Challenge - A new opponent will be waiting to fight you in the Battledome.
  • Faerie Quest - One of the six basic faeries, the Rainbow Faerie, Fyora the Faerie Queen, or the Space Faerie would like you to find something of theirs, for which you will be rewarded.

    Good Random Events occur more frequently if you donate frequently to the Money Tree. The more often you donate, the more likely Good Random Events are. If you take items from the Money Tree, however, you are less likely to get ANY Random Events.

    Bad Random Events are rare depending on their severity. The worst are very unlikely unless you've been misbehaving on the site. Damage and Penalty Random Events occur more frequently, but usually less often than good or neutral ones. Alteration Random Events are very rare.
